Sisters

Kayt's back....and packing once again...she leaves tomorrow for Lake champion...excited but she too is getting tired of the "hi, bye" routine.

Last night we went to see (drum roll) the 6th Harry Potter movie! I really enjoyed it. Kayt and I sat in the front...there were so few people there that everyone made their own little commentary and nobody minded. There's this one part where the hand reaches out of the water and grabs Harry...we all jumped. And of course we were overcome with giggles and trying not to snort. Very fun...
Car ride there:
No really, she's more enthusiastic than she looks..she just hates pictures...

Hannah, on the other hand, loves them :)

Today was another splendid day...after work at the ice cream stand I babysat for the neighbors Hannah came over and played with Elly. I was babysitting till 11pm, so once the kids were off to bed, Kayt came over and we had a sister's night watching, judging fashion shows and sharing stories;(being scandalized at camels in the zoo in Boston...the plight of wedding shop sales people)we both of course got hyper and all giggly, but that's what sisters are for.

A Glorious Day

So last night we didn't have a movie marathon, but we definitely had a Beach Boys and Beatles Songs marathon. The rest of the family detests both bands. Humming, singing and whistling Dad and I would go along untill the last note of a song where we would dramatically crichendo into a off-tune opera-esc ending. :) This was all of course while I'm on the computer and he's perousing maps and books for an upcoming hiking trip-ah the pleasures of divided attention.

And what a glorious morning!...slept in...nice long workout. The sky has never been bluer, the grass has never been greener. And guess what I saw during my cool-down walk?! A fox! It crossed the road 20 feet in front of me...a light reddish brown....quite small. I've never seen a wild fox that close up before. Isn't it funny how some animals seem to wait for something to be coming towards them, before they'll frantically cross. I've seen chipmunks wait until my bike is about even with them, to dash in the middle of the driveway and then once there...they can't decide which side they should run to.

Lunch:
My kind of cooking (aka: I don't-except pancakes)

Today is also a momentous occasion because I sold my first slushies ever....and Mom, Hannah and Kaytlin come home!

And the perfect closing to a fairly wonderful day...pancakes!

Day off!

So today is a beloved and needed day off. Got my fashion fix this morning. I was craving the discovery of some new outfits made of old clothes. And was not above rummaging through bags of hand-me-downs in our little storage closet...here's some of the treasures I found:

Yes a guy shirt-deliciously slouchy for a lazy Saturday look

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Totally office worthy

Inspired by pics of Jane Birkin

love the gold sandals

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

fairy funny!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This afternoon was spent cleaning house, finishing a few sewing projects, writing letters and of course enjoying some freshly picked strawberries (thanks Mom and Hannah!)

So today Mom, Kayt and Hannah are off gallivanting in Boston. Yes I'm green with envy....
Maybe we'll have a father-daughter movie night.

Canoing escapades!

So since it turns out I wasn't working Sunday...we all went canoeing! All the girls canoed to a nearby island to hangout while Dad spent the day canoeing and met us at the island around supper time.

Proof of Dad and Mom's canoe-securing expertise.

Dad's girls

And of course Sparky and Ashes

Me and Kayt (she's back!) in one canoe. Mom, Hannah and the dogs (thanks goodness:) in the other.

Mom getting lost in watercolors.

It was colder than we expected so Kayt went with the old towel trick and used her piromaniac skills to start a fire.

Check out the bare feet!

Brrrrrrr

Dad arrives! Hannah celebrates by...swimming?! :)

Ashes the welcoming committee

Time for hot dogs and s'mores!

Smiles!

Kayt and I were rather sugar high from all those marshmallows. Sang like drunks on the way home...especially in the echo-y tunnel :) I forgot how much she made me laugh.

Babysitting

"Sisters, sisters...."-

" Babysitting" aka hanging out at the neighbor's

Hannah and Elly, best friends

I love these flowers, they look so...innocent.

Strawberries, strawberries, strawberries

Having fun with my "gypsy" outfit.

Somewhere between nannying and cleaning our neighbor's house I snatched a few moments of Mom and Hannah bringing back their "loot." They went strawberry picking...enough to feed an army. Snapped a few...Hannah loved making strawberry jam. :)

MMMMMMmmmmmm.
